The home network
The router, the Wi-Fi, and everything quietly sharing that network with your work laptop.
Most homes run on equipment nobody ever really set up: a router with the password still printed on the underside, one laptop the whole family uses, and photographs that exist in exactly one place. We look at it, tell you what we find in words you can repeat to someone else, and fix what is worth fixing.
Not a package, not a subscription. Pick the one that matches what is actually bothering you.
The router, the Wi-Fi, and everything quietly sharing that network with your work laptop.
A stolen account, a scam payment, malware, a message demanding money. What to do first, and in what order.
Filtering and time limits set up honestly, plus a frank conversation about what actually works at each age.
The photos and documents you would be devastated to lose, copied somewhere that has been tested by restoring it.
We work remotely, the same way we do for companies. For a router that means you at the keyboard and us on a call, walking through it together - which is usually faster than waiting a week for somebody to visit, and it leaves you able to do it again yourself.
01
Twenty minutes, no charge, no sales script. You describe what is worrying you and we tell you whether it is worth doing anything about - which is sometimes no.
02
We go through the router, the devices and whatever else the conversation pointed at, with you present the whole time. Nothing happens on a machine in your house without you watching it happen.
03
Written in plain language, with a fixed price agreed before anything starts. You keep the write-up, including the passwords, so you are not tied to us afterwards.
NodeOps Security audits and hardens infrastructure for businesses across Europe. This side of it exists because the advice that keeps a company safe is mostly the same advice a household needs, and almost nobody offers it to households without either patronising them or selling them a subscription.
We do not sell antivirus, routers, or anything else. Nobody pays us a commission. When we tell you a thing is fine as it is, that is the whole of our interest in it.
What we will not do. We will not help anyone get into somebody else’s account, phone or laptop - not a partner’s, not an adult child’s, not an employee’s. If you are worried that someone is reading your messages, that is a job we take seriously and will help with. Doing it to somebody else is not, whatever the reason, and we will say so and stop. Parental controls are set up with the child told about them: a filter a teenager discovers by accident teaches them to hide things, which is the opposite of what you wanted.
You do not need the right words for it. Describe what happened, or what worries you, and we will work out the technical part.
